Procion Playshop is a hands-on workshop that will demystify the use of Procion MX dyes. If you have always wanted to step into the world of hand-dyed fabrics but have been intimidated or confused by the technicalities, this workshop is for you. The focus will be on a non-technical exploration into this exciting medium. You will learn a safe and easy step-by-step processes for handling, mixing and storing Procion dyes and related chemicals, a simple step-by-step process for dying small quantities of fabric at home using easily acquired supplies and equipment, a method of mixing dye colors to create your own delicious hues, explore using thickened Procion as a æpaintingÆ medium for fabric and paper, explore a variety of resist, stencil and printing methods using dye, explore the use of a sketchbook to document recipes, learning, process details, ideas, æwhat ifs, day dreams and doodles, and a simple method for rinsing dyed fabrics at home. The $25 kit fee is not including in the class fee and is payable on the day of class. Please see the full supply list for details.
